Abstract
Water pollution can kill large numbers of fish, birds and other animals. Pollution can make stream, lake and coastal water unpleasant to smell and to swim in, (fish and shell). Fish harvested from polluted water may be unsafe to eat and so as to health. People who take polluted water can become ill and prolonged exposure may
develop cancer and children with birth defect.
