Abstract
The primary aim of this study is to analyze the.effect of crime on business activities in Gusau L.G.A; the main objectives of the study were, to identify the causes of criminal activities in The primary aim of this study is to analyze the.effect of crime on business activities in Gusau L.G.A; the main objectives of the study were, to identify the causes of criminal activities in Gusau LGA, to examine the effect of crime on business patronage, examine the effects of crime on business security spending, and also to assess the effect of crime on business sustainability in Gusau LGA. Differential Association theory and structural strain theory were used as the theoretical foundation for the study. Tile theories tried to explain why people committed crime by assuming that crime is learnt a11d a product of social dysfunction. Survey research design was used in the study, Purposive sampling technique was used to collect data from 384 respondents using questionnaire. Frequency distribution and percentages were used to analyze tire data obtained from respondents.
