Abstract
The traditional Yoruba cultural set-up depicts a person as a social being bearing intrinsic relationship with others in the community. In other words, a person ( eniyan) is not just an atomic individual, but a person who co-exist with the others both in the physical and non-physical existence. 1 The implication ofthis is that, in the Yoruba traditional life, the individual does not, and cannot exist alone except corporately. Man in the Yoruba worldview, owes his existence to the others in the community, including those of the past generations such as the ancestors.
