Abstract
The role of women empowerment, policy as a tool for rural development on the third world countries like Nigeria cannot be overemphasized. As society get more sophisticated in terms of development both men and women alike competing towards development of rural area. There searcher has attempted to review the opinion of some authors that are related to research topic. In order to appraise how women empowerment contribute to rural development; the researcher choose sample of one hundred people in the area of the study. A random sampling method was used and information was collected with the aid of questionnaire and personal interview were scrutinized. The data collected were presented, analyzed and interpreted using percentage and table.
