| dc.description.abstract | A parasite is an organism that lives in another organism, called the host, and often harms it. It depends on its host for survival. Soil is a highly dynamics, ecologically complex and diverse living entity that is armed as a result of various biological and climatological interactions with the earth's bedrock Dumpsites are waste depositing land (soil) areas where we controlled waste disposal activities occur in such a way that the environment is not protected from the detrimental effect that arises from these activities. Soil sample 40g was collected al each sampling point with the aid of a 0.751112quadrant thrown at random and with a soil auger at depth 0- l 5cm. The temperature of the soils was measured in situ. Samples were collected in labelled air tight polythene bags and immediately transported to the laboratory for analysis. Sampling was done in the first three weeks of September, 2018. Soils samples from the field were analyzed for moisture content, soils to be analyzed for helminths were kept moist in polythene bags pending time of analysis and the remaining soils were transferred into a plastic tray for air drying; large clods of soil were broken to speed up drying.. | en |
