Item PHTHALATE ESTERS IN AKEULA DUMPSITE SOIL (BASE LAYER) ORU- IJEBU OGUN- STATE(Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic Ijebu Igbo, 2018-10-11) BADRU AMINAT TOLULOPE OLALEYE SHERIFAT OLUWAPELUMI AZEEZ HALIMAT AMINAT; BADRU AMINAT TOLULOPE OLALEYE SHERIFAT OLUWAPELUMI AZEEZ HALIMAT AMINATSoil is the outermost layer of the earth crust which supports plants and animal's growth. Addition of toxic substances or energy to the soil due to man's activities causes soil pollution. It can be polluted by the dumping of refuse, oil spillage, agricultural waste and industrial waste. Phthalate esters (PAEs) are environmental pollutant released to the soil directly or indirectly during the productions and the disposal of the products in which they are present. ln this study, Akcula dumpsite (Base layer soil) was collected randomly for seven consecutive days. The soil samples were sundried, grinded and sieved with 2 mm mesh to obtain a fine powder. Extraction was carried on powdery samples with n - hexane using an ultrasonic bath for a period of 20 minutes then it was then it was filtered using Pasteur pipette and anhydrous sodium sulphate, it was then analysed using GCMS. Di - ethyl phthalate (DEP), di-n-butyl phthalate (DBP), butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP), bis (2- ethylhexyl) phthalate, (DEHP), di-n-octyl phthalate (DnOP) were confirmed present with concentrations 0.07, 0.30, O. 16, 4.50, 0.27 in mg/kg respectively. DEHP was found to have the highest concentration in the base layer soil samples which may be due to its wide application range in production processes.Item IMPACT ASSESSMENT OF PITLATRINE ON WELL WATER OF OJOWO AREA, IJEBU-IGBO, OGUN STATE(Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic Ijebu Igbo, 2015-09-09) TOM GRACE BLESSING; TOM GRACE BLESSINGWell water sample of sample location was analyzed. Parameter analyzed includes pH, Dissolved oxygen, Electrical conductivity, Turbidity, Acidity, Alkalinity, Total hardness, Calcium hardness, Chloride, Nitrate and phosphate. But they're yet to deals with the online examination recruitment.Item Evaluation of Azadirachta indicaextracts invitro on the growth and development of Phytophthtora megllkarya causal organism of blackpod disease of cocoa (Tlteobroma cacao L.)(Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic Ijebu Igbo, 2016-10-13) ADISA HABIBAT AYOMIDE; ADISA HABIBAT AYOMIDEThe efficacy of Azadirachtan indica Neem leaf extracts were evaluated on the growth and development of P. mega aryam vitro using acetone, ethanol and methanol as extraction solvent.Fourier Tranform Infra-Red (FTIR) Spectrometer was used to determine the quantitative constituents of the plant extracts. Five levels of crude extracts concentrations were used viz; 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100% respectively to determine the best concentration at which the extract will be most effective against the pathogen.The fungus Phytophthora megakarya was isolated from infected cocoa pod. Food poisoning technique was used to determine the toxicity of the neem extracts against the grov.·th of the pathogen.5 ml of A. indica extracts were mixed with 20 ml of Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA) to get 20, 40, 60, and 80 % concentration, while the undiluted extract was recorded as I 00 %. The kit ! saves time and money in experimentation as no soldering-is required to dry out new circuits and components can be reused again and again. All inputs/outputs and components for experimentation are terminated on 4mm base terminal. Interconnection is through 4mm patch cords. Various DC/AC regulated power supplies are built-in. the kit is housed in a sturdy designed power coated metal enclosure.Item DETERMINATION OF RADIONUCLIDES CONTENTS IN SOIL SAMPLES AROUD LAFARGE CEMENT INDUSTRY, SHAGAMU, OGUN STATE(Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic Ijebu Igbo, 2015-01-10) OLADIPUPO OLABIMPE ORIYOMI; OLADIPUPO OLABIMPE ORIYOMIOver the last few decades man has artificially produced several hundreds of radionuclide through industrialization and other man made activities. The presence and estimation of radionuclide contents of soil sample around cement manufacturing company was investigated in order to assess the radiation impact on the people living in the environment. Five ( 5) soil samples were analyzed for the presence ofK- 40, U- 238, and Th- 232. ln the five (5) soil samples, it was found that K-40 had 525.76 ± 5.2, 608.47 ± 3.3, 622.96 ± 4.9, 529.74 ± 5.3 and 529.74 ± 5.3 with the mean value 573.58 ± 5.3; U-238 was estimated to be 58.72 ± 2.5, 73.20 ± 2.2, 64.78 ± 2.6, 55.44± 2.8, 53.47 ± 2.2 and mean value of61.12 ± 4.1 while Th-232 had 43.33 ± 6.5, 47.08 ± 2.8, 46.81 ± 1.9, 53.45 ± 4.2, 50.77 ± 7.3 with mean value of 48.29 ± 4.5.Item PERCEPTION OF THE IMPACT OF SOCIAL MEDIA IN CURBING THE SPREAD OF COVID 19(Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic Ijebu Igbo, 2021-12-16) SOYEMI MOSES MAYOWA; SOYEMI MOSES MAYOWASocial Media is an invaluable means of disseminating information to the citizenry; hence it is a powerful tool of propaganda. In lieu of the Nigerian situation, it acts as a two-edged sword as it allows citizens to be privy to information without impediments. However, this same tool has been used to misinform the populace and to circulate unverifiable and deceptive messages to citizens. As regards this, the basic question becomes: what are the advantages and disadvantages of the roles of social media in informing the general public about pandemics such as Covid- I 9. This qualitative study would explore therefore the roles which social media play in either curtailing or aiding the spread of the pandemic across the country. The paper concludes that the significance of Social Media cannot be overemphasized with recourse to information dissemination. It also purports some challenges and effect of the social media campaigns and also proffer recommendations to them.Item MINERAL ANALYSIS OF Clarias Gariepinus MUSCLE FROM NATURAL AND ARTIFICIAL HABITAT(Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic Ijebu Igbo, 2009-08-08) OLANREWAJU OLUWASEUN. M; OLANREWAJU OLUWASEUN. MMineral analysis was carried out on ciarías gariepinus from natural and artificial habitat.
